This is a coarse time to be in the advertising business. Internet marketing is pushing it out of the way, people are much too overstimulated, no one is spending and, naturally, there’s that pesky recession to think about.  Those are the challenges Commission Blueprint 2 faces.

You may not have noticed, but this Google thing has become kind of a big deal. The company itself is worth somewhere around two hundred bn. greenbacks, and its continuing to grow. You could also notice that the company offers virtually all of its services free. Thats because almost all of those things arent truly its business.  

No, Google is in the advertising business, web marketing style. What Google realized early on and profited immensely from is the fact that folk are looking for stuff. Yes, I know this appears obvious, but give me a minute and I’ll explain.  

According to Commission Blueprint 2.0, there was a point when advertising was dominated by some giant companies, spending millions of bucks on ad campaigns to reach millions of people in the hopes that some share of those folks, hopefully a huge one but probably a tiny one, would actually buy their products. Google wasnt truly inquisitive about those folks.  

Google realized that there were millions of companies, and if they could offer tons of companies heaps of way to reach patrons for pennies, they could make a lot of money. Billions. And since they knew that there were plenty of folk looking for masses of things, they were in a position to reign supreme over the advertising business. Internet marketing wasnt born with them, but it did grow with them.  

This technique of connecting hungry consumers with prepared companies really is a revolution in the advertising business. Online marketing means that you dont have to battle with other advertisers attempting to seive the great hordes of people who dont want to listen to you to begin with, trying to find that one person who basically wants what you have.  

There are two sides of online marketing ; finding that hungry customer, and building relations. The hungry customer part is the clear one. If someone is hunting for a way to stop feline incontinence and you’ve a way to stop feline incontinence, then it should be clear that rather than roaring to the masses about what you have, you need to be talking with the person who already wants what you have. Google Voice Your Number

On one hand we have a phone industry in decline, there are networks charging a ridiculous amounts.

Then on the other end of things we have Google who create innovative products that then use clever marketing methods to actually earn money from, a previous example being PPC. But more recently Google indicated that they would be starting a new service called Google voice.

The business who have already created a cell phone, are now jumping into another niche that will leave a lot of the smaller companies scared. The free service, announced in March, allows users to unify their phone numbers, allowing them to have a single number through Google Voice that rings a call through to all their cell phones.

In some ways it works much like call forwarding, which most people pay a monthly sum to use. The best thing about the service is that you can actually add filters to the system so that depending on who is calling you, they can be diverted to a different number completely.

But do Google need to stop and think about the volume of markets that they are entering into? Some people say that the company should stop and just concentrate on search. But I honestly believe that the company need to better themselves in order to keep search alive. Google are always using information in some form or another to improve their search results, they are trying to make them a lot more personalised and the way to do this is to launch new products to track what each and every person is doing.
